Thanks to all of you who took our summer festero workshop. You did great! You can see just how great below.

A festero is someone who takes part in a fiesta - sings, dances, plays guitar and generally has fun while everyone else wishes they were festeros too.

We'll be focusing on two essential parts of any flamenco fiesta: Sevillanas and Bulerías.

July 27th: In our final class of this series, the group finished two letras and a cierre for the Bulerías:

and the first two coplas of the Sevillanas.

July 6th: We finished the first copla of Sevillanas and reviewed our Bulerías.

June 29th: We introduced the first two variations for the first copla of Sevillanas and added a transition and a llamada to the second letra to our Bulerías.

We're halfway through the workshop and you can see we're having a great time. Come join us!

June 21st was our third workshop session. We worked on two opening llamadas, two letras, and a desplante llamada for Bulerias:

From the June 14th workshop: Bulerias:

opening rhythm, llamada, letra, desplante llamada

From June 7th workshop: Bulerias:

opening rhythm, llamada and letra

When? Saturdays, 3:30 - 5:00 PM,

June 7th through July 26th (8 Weeks)

Sevillanas:
The sevillanas is a beautiful dance for couples (bring your sweetie if you wish. Otherwise a sweetie will be provided.)

It's the one dance everybody does at the famous Féria de Sevilla - the spring fair in Seville, Spain. We'll learn all four coplas.

Everyone will learn to sing each copla as dancers learn to dance and guitarists learn to accompany.

Bulerías:
Buleriás is closely identified with the city of Jerez de la Frontera. It's the dance that closes most flamenco shows as dancers, singers and even guitarists step forward to throw out a few steps.

Dancers, guitarists and singers will learn what to do at each point in this exciting dance including the entrada (entrance), llamadas (cues), desplante llamadas (dance cues), letras (songs/dance choreography), escobillas (footwork sequences), and salidas (exits).
